There is a crack in everything

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering.
There is a crack in everything,
That's how the light gets in.

So sweet to hear from you this morning. No, I haven't been posting on the blog, although I think I "should" and sometimes would even like to. I've been using Facebook lately (Kim Tyler, kimisohapi@yahoo.com) and finding it is a good way to stay connected with lots of people, although nobody ever writes anything very beautiful or profound - sometimes thoughtful. Which brings me to you - and the sadness - I so much love that Leonard Cohen poem you put up. I'm so sorry you are not able to participate in the world to the extent you wish. But you do know how to ring the bells that still can ring.
I just arrived last night at my beloved Whidbey Island, with my two dogs. My partner will arrive in a couple of weeks, as she is teaching painting classes all over the place. This past year I got a grandson, who is beautiful, and have been spending so much time with him and getting great joy from it. I wonder who is the beautiful baby whose photo you posted?
Anyway, as always, I send you my best. I feel sure we would be friends if we could figure that out. Maybe pen pals until we do a continental shift! Please stay in touch!

It's kind of late. I just clicked on your rs feed randomly and discovered some new posts. I think those words of cohen's are an important reminder for me. Those cracks. Being broken open.. forget the idea of a perfect offering; just offer.

I don't think there's any such thing as a "perfect" offering and it's just a waste of one's time to even consider that it might exist. Cracks though, well there is a vast supply of those!
